Birch Aquarium Bliss

After Jennifer Deuprey said “I do” to Christopher Stanchak, they headed off to a truly unique reception site — The Birch Aquarium to celebrate their marriage.  Located in La Jolla, California, the Bridal Bar designed this perfect day for the happy couple.  Simply Posh Design created a full suite of event stationery  using a palette of champagne and aqua to mimic  the sand and sea, and a custom seashell motif embellished with a natural pearl to add a little elegance to this already grand affair.  Hartworks Florals did a beautiful job bringing the aquarium into bloom. Dessert was enhanced by the delicious five-teared cake from the one and only Michele Coulon Dessertier and as always True Photography Weddings managed to capture every detail with their expert eye.

LACEY & DAVE 10.15.10

Dave and I met at the wedding of mutual friends, but did not go on our first date for over a year. Due to our mutual friends, Dave and I would constantly encounter each other at football games, BBQ’s and parties in the city of Chicago, where we both currently live. Our first date kicked off a year of love and friendship, and we were engaged on the following Christmas, when Dave proposed on the front doorstep of my family’s home in Encinitas, California.

Since we were planning a San Diego wedding from our home in Chicago, we relied heavily on the internet for locating our vendors. We were stunned when we came across True Photography’s website listed first on our google search of San Diego Wedding Photography. True’s ability to capture couples’ personality in their photos, along with the great locations and vibrant colors had us sold! We couldn’t have been happier with Aaron on the day of the engagement photo shoot. He encouraged us to be ourselves by incorporating a handstand, water fight and lots of laughter into our shoot. We loved our pictures so much that we hired True to design our Save-the-Date. You would not believe all of the compliments we’ve received!

Thank you Aaron and True Photography!  We can’t wait for you to capture our wedding at La Costa Resort and Spa!

Engagement photo shoot by True Photography…..really brings out the dynamic personalities of these love birds!!

This animated and beautiful couple who is getting married in September was shot all around NTC Promenade

“The Notebook” Part Deux

Our love story starts circa 1992. I was the ridiculously talented eighth-grade star on the boys’ varsity basketball team. Michelle was a mere seventh grader managing the team while juggling a budding career as professional model and concert violinist. Okay, so at least that’s how my memory prefers to remember it.

That time period was a blur-boys were growing up and girls were growing out, hormones were raging out of control and braces were standard issue. I would occasionally catch myself drifting off in practice seemingly more focused on the beautiful lady sauntering the sidelines than anything Coach Lowney was yelling at us.

It was a season of perfection for the mighty Wolves of Lake Ridge. We went undefeated (yet again) and the hero (that’s me) led my team to another championship. I had everything an eighth grade boy desired-a shiny trophy, the adoration of awkward teenage fans, a magnificent banner adorning the gymnasium wall, and a three-month supply of Oxy to battle those humiliating middle school pimples. Life was pretty sweet. Apparently, the only thing missing was my courage-I never did find enough gumption to speak with my future wife that year.

Approximately two years passed until our paths crossed again. I finally found the inner strength to call Miss Couch, who was now a young woman tearing up the soccer fields and basketball courts herself, and express my youthful adoration. We were just minutes into our conversation and things were going perfectly; until she told me she was moving to California in two weeks! ☹

Michelle and I kept in touch corresponding as pen pals for a while. She would send modeling pictures and I enjoyed hanging them up on my bedroom mirror. I’d tell everyone that Michelle was the girl of my dreams, including my girlfriend at the time. That pretty much ended that relationship. Throughout the years when I would think about “Mitch”, my heart would flutter while I’d wonder why our worlds were prematurely torn apart.

A year ago, the Lord sent me an angel. My world turned upside down when our paths amazingly crossed again. We reconnected with each other via Facebook in this technological age and I felt like that 8th grade boy once again-only this time it was, forever.

I became obsessed with Exquisite Wedding Magazine and fell in love with the unique, boutique style of the weddings highlighted. I began to notice True Photography as a repeated vendor amongst the many different weddings and ultimately fell in love with the editorial style of images. I knew I wanted my pictures to have the similar feel to timeless art. Aaron Feldman, owner, portrayed a confidence and passion for photography that was undoubtedly addicting. The initial engagement shoot was not only a blast, but our photographer truly gave us free reign to express ourselves as a unique couple. I was a little hesitant at first to present the old school basketball theme, but our photographer was extremely supportive and the images ultimately portrayed the youthfulness and memories that brought both Brant and I together. Thank you to True Photography for making our childhood memories a reality and we look forward to more precious moments to come!

JIIN & ALLEN 08.14.10

Allen and I met in Vegas! Yes, Vegas. I guess, what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas haha! We met at the club called Tao. The next day, we went on our first date official date. Allen was from San Jose and I was in San Diego, so we did the long distance thing for about a year, until Allen made the move to San Diego. A year later, Allen proposed to me.

It was a pretty easy choice when we decided to go with True Photography. Aaron was the first photographer to call us back, so being prompt was really important to us. Aaron was the only photographer we had spoken to, but because he was so friendly, easy going, seemed to know his stuff, and the photos were amazing, we signed the contract right away.

So many people were like, “Weren’t you guys tired of smiling and taking pictures?” But no, we didn’t even feel like it was any work at all. It was really fun, and a very easy experience. Michael and Eddie were both awesome shooters. Everything went so smooth and felt very organized that we were able to spend a lot of time with our guests.

APRIL & TODD 08.03.10

We love to see the inner personality  of a couple come alive with their engagement pictures….

Todd and I met with many photographers before choosing True Photography. Upon entering their studio, we felt completely at ease. They were willing to answer our questions and stayed with us for quite a while showing us their work! You can tell right away that everyone there loves what they do, are passionate about it, and also extremely professional. The quality and uniqueness of their work far surpassed that of any other photographer we met with! Todd and I were a bit nervous going into the engagement shoot, but quickly started having fun with it. We were so comfortable with our photographer, and actually didn’t want it to end!
